Discover the heritage craft of tatting in this beginner-friendly workshop. Tatting is a lace-making technique created from a number of beautifully structured stitches.

In this 1 hour 30 minute session you will learn needle tatting, working at a larger scale using a large needle and Aran wool. This makes the structure of the stitches easy to see and understand, providing a strong foundation for finer thread work and traditional shuttle tatting.

You will learn the basic tatting stitch and how rings, chains and picots are formed. During the class you will create a tatted motif, which you will take home.

This workshop is designed as a gateway into tatting—whether you wish to continue with finer materials, progress to shuttle tatting, or simply enjoy learning.
